When pregnant with my first child, I decided to tackle learning how to fit my body. I already knew clothing construction techniques from childhood, but learning how to alter flat patterns opened up new horizons. I have sewn everything from formalwear to swimsuits and almost everything in between, and I wear these items regularly.
Knitting came later solely because I wanted a wool sweater, not cashmere, not cotton- 100% wool. I couldn’t find one to buy and decided I could make it instead. That first sweater I cast on ended up being the seventh one I finished and my cardigans are a staple every winter
